Artisanal Production
Consolidated Tourism
By citing precedents such as the global emergence of high quality Mezcal production in Mexico and high grade, low volume Olive Oil Production in the Mediterranean Regions, we envision the potential of creating lasting partnerships with similar low volume producers in Armenia. The Hub encompasses facilities that can support the production of locally sourced cheese, spirits, oils, and other globally and regionally marketable products, by enabling services for certification and marketing not only within, but outside of Armenia. The centralization of these artisanal crafts can also coincide with the tourism market of the region to create opportunities for authentic tourism experiences and participatory ecotourism.
Alaverdi is conveniently located at the nexus of more than 8 regionally and globally recognizable heritage sites in the Lori Region, giving it potential of being a centralized point of departure of a formalized tourism market in the region. Supplementary to generating jobs and creating opportunities to more effectively establish infrastructure for funding, the role of a centralized tourist hub would ultimately help in preserving these sensitive sites. By using the model adopted by the Wings of Tatev, we believe we can incentivize further engagement with and exploration of these sites. Curated exhibitions and presentations at the Hub would not only augment the visitor experience but further help monetize tourism, in order to ultimately create a sustainable strategy to preserve and maintain the heritage sites.

Cultural Preservation
Project Roadmap
The final component of our vision, is to strengthen and preserve the existing culture and identity of the region. The exhibition of the natural landscape, architectural heritage, and intellectual achievements, has the potential of not only creating a sense of attraction for tourists and residents alike, but also elevating the cultural significance of the city both domestically and globally. It could be argued that a heightened identity and cultural significance is invaluable to preserving and further bolstering the population of Alaverdi.
We have currently completed the Concept Research phase and have commenced efforts on establishing an operating model. By consulting experts who have conducted similar projects in Armenia we hope to anticipate the process which will help us arrive at our intended vision.
