Strategy

The concept of the project is to empower local residents to find value in not only their individual skill sets, but also in the region which they inhabit. By investigating the intersection between technology and architecture, the project seeks to cultivate a productive interface between tourism and the surrounding region of Alaverdi, while simultaneously taking advantage of its natural potential to reframe the methods of artisanal production. Tourism will be approached through a lens of authenticity, while the cross pollination between lo-fi artisanal methods and hi-fi technological techniques will generate a unique, culturally and regionally specific sensibility towards both.
